RGB color model

The RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green, and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. The name of the model comes from the initials of the three additive primary colors, red, green, and blue.

The main purpose of the RGB color model is for the sensing, representation, and display of images in electronic systems, such as televisions and computers, though it has also been used in conventional photography. Before the electronic age, the RGB color model already had a solid theory behind it, based in human perception of colors

Typical RGB input devices are color TV and video cameras, image scanners, and digital cameras. Typical RGB output devices are TV sets of various technologies (CRT, LCD, plasma, etc.), computer and mobile phone displays, video projectors, multicolor LED displays, and large screens such as JumboTron, etc. Color printers, on the other hand, are not RGB devices, but subtractive color devices (typically CMYK color model).

The RGB color model is additive in the sense that the three light beams are added together, and their light spectra add, wavelength for wavelength, to make the final color's spectrum.
When one of the components has the strongest intensity, the color is a hue near this primary color (reddish, greenish, or bluish), and when two components have the same strongest intensity, then the color is a hue of a secondary color (a shade of cyan, magenta or yellow).

A secondary color is formed by the sum of two primary colors of equal intensity: cyan is green+blue, magenta is red+blue, and yellow is red+green. Every secondary color is the complement of one primary color; when a primary and its complementary secondary color are added together, the result is white: cyan complements red, magenta complements green, and yellow complements blue.

The RGB color model itself does not define what is meant by red, green, and blue colorimetrically, and so the results of mixing them are not specified as absolute, but relative to the primary colors. When the exact chromaticities of the red, green, and blue primaries are defined, the color model then becomes an absolute color space, such as sRGB or Adobe RGB; see RGB color spaces for more details.

CMYK color model

The CMYK color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black).

The "K" in CMYK stands for key since in four-color printing cyan, magenta, and yellow printing plates are carefully keyedor aligned with the key of the black key plate. Some sources suggest that the "K" in CMYK comes from the last letter in "black" and was chosen because B already means blue.

The CMYK model works by partially or entirely masking colors on a lighter, usually white, background. The ink reduces the light that would otherwise be reflected. Such a model is called subtractive because inks "subtract" brightness from white.

In
additive color models such as RGB, white is the "additive" combination of all primary colored lights, while black is the absence of light. In the CMYK model, it is the opposite: white is the natural color of the paper or other background, while black results from a full combination of colored inks. To save money on ink, and to produce deeper black tones, unsaturated and dark colors are produced by using black ink instead of the combination of cyan, magenta and yellow.

*Additive color describes the situation where color is created by mixing the visible light emitted from differently colored light sources. This is in contrast to subtractive colors where light is removed from various part of the visible spectrum to create colors.

Color Wheel

A color wheel (also referred to as a color circle) is a visual representation of colors arranged according to their chromatic relationship. Begin a color wheel by positioning primary hues equidistant from one another, then create a bridge between primaries using secondary and tertiary colors.

These terms refer to color groups or types:

The primary colors are:
  • red
  • blue
  • yellow

Primary colors cannot be made from other colors.  Artists create all the other colors of the rainbow by mixing together the primary colors.

The secondary colors are:
  • green
  • orange
  • violet (purple)

Secondary colors are made by mixing two primary colors.  Each secondary color is made from the two primary colors closest to it on the color wheel.

Morphing

Morphing is a special effect in motion pictures and animations that changes one image into another through a seamless transition.

Three frames form a morph from George W. Bush toArnold Schwarzenegger showing the midpoint between the two extremes

Present use of morphing

Morphing algorithms continue to advance and many programs can automatically morph images that correspond closely enough with relatively little instruction from the user. This has led to the use of morphing techniques to create convincing slow-motion effects where none existed in the original film or video footage by morphing between each individual frame using optical flow technology. Morphing has also appeared as a transition technique between one scene and another in television shows, even if the contents of the two images are entirely unrelated. The algorithm in this case attempts to find corresponding points between the images and distort one into the other as they crossfade.
While perhaps less obvious than in the past, morphing is used heavily today. Whereas the effect was initially a novelty, today, morphing effects are most often designed to be seamless and invisible to the eye.

Top Ten Antivirus Ratings

Most of these antivirus software have been tested extensively for their performance. The old versions have received ratings based on the performance to quickly detect viruses from infected systems and stop new viruses from infecting the computers. There is a very strong criteria that will be used to provide points to various antivirus software 2012. Another interesting factor that we are considering is the antivirus coupons, we will give scores to antivirus software companies that offer discount coupons from time to time. Although this is not a major factor, but many users value coupons because it is a good way to save money on security software. Although this factor will not inflate the original ratings, we are including it only to help people save money. These are the factors that will contribute to the scoring:

Speed: When it comes to computing, speed is an important aspect that we can't neglect. It has been reported that some antivirus software are much slower in comparison to other antivirus software. Which means, some antivirus programs slow down a computer. Computer users (specially gamers) like using antivirus software that does not degrade the performance of a computer system. They enjoy using the fastest antivirus software.
Stealth: Many viruses and spyware are designed to deactivate antivirus programs so that they are not detected. Antivirus software should quickly detect such a threat and stop the virus from harming the system files. Those antivirus software will receive higher score that can not only defend against known viruses but also protect a computer system from new and unknown virus and spyware.
Detection: A good antivirus program will quickly detect infection and will take the necessary steps to quarantine the infected files in order to stop the virus from spreading to other system files. Only if security software has the capabilities of detecting infection, it can stop a virus/spyware. So this is a major aspect of security software. Many poorly designed security software cannot detect all forms of threat. However, only those antivirus software will be included in our top ten antivirus 2012 list that are capable of detecting all sorts of threats.
Technical Support: We will also provide scores depending upon the type of technical support and customer service provided by the antivirus software manufacturer. Only those programs will receive higher ratings that are bundled with quality support. We will also count on the type of support available: phone, chat, email, etc. When your computer system is infected with virus, spyware or other forms of malware, you need quick assistance. That's when you need to contact someone who is technically equipped to assist you. Based on the quality of technical support, scores will be provided to various security software and hence will win a rank in our top ten antivirus 2012 list.
Price: Antivirus software should not be too costly, it should be reasonably priced. We will be comparing the price of antivirus software and will be providing scores based upon how cheap is the antivirus software. The cheapest and the best antivirus 2012 will receive higher rankings. People love saving money, so the cheapest antivirus software will receive higher scores.

These are some of the major factors we will be using to rate the best antivirus software of 2012. We will also include other factors like real-time scanning, frequency of updates, blocking phishing attempts, link scanning, IM protection, parental lock and lots more factors. However, we will majorly focus on the 5 key-points mentioned above. Based on these factors, we will provide our lab test reports that will show you which antivirus software is best for your computer in the year 2012. Most antivirus manufacturers will release their 2012 antivirus software sometime in May or June this year. If you have any questions or suggestions about this report of top ten antivirus 2012, please leave your review below by leaving a comment.Download link:

Logitech’s Washable Keyboard K310 – Wash & Don’t Swear

If a few not so choice words have ever unintentionally, but ever so vocally escaped from between your lips following a liquid spill onto a keyboard, the Logitech washable K310 may end up on your short-list to buy. The K310 could have eased your emotional and financial distress, while also saving the loss of time and fuel consumed in a trip to ye olde computer store.

It’s a well known “scientific fact” that dirty language leads to dirty input devices, and the people at Logitech have zero-tolerance for dirty keyboards. The result of intense rocket-scientist research is the K310 washable keyboard that can be submerged in water up to 11-inches in depth, at temperatures up to 120-degrees Fahrenheit. That’s possible because of “rubberdome key technology”.

Drainage holes at the back of the K310 remove the water and debris from spilled foods and beverages, while the laser printing and UV coating on the keys make it durable so the keys will not fade. The unit is plug-and-play and works right out of the box with no software to install.

The Logitech K310 is scratch resistant and tough, but not invincible, and is definitely not intended to be placed in a dishwasher. Another cautionary note is that the USB cable must never be submerged in liquid.

The layout is familiar to all, with F-keys and a number pad, and even 12 hot keys. Logitech claims the keys are rated to last for 5-million keystrokes. The color combination is a classy combination of white keys on a black background, and the typically unseen underside of the unit is blue. The 3-year warranty provides assurance of performance.

Technical Washifications

Hand washable (Do not place in dishwasher)
Submersible in up to 11-inches of water
Maximum water temperature of 120-degrees Fahrenheit
Use mild dish-washing soap (No alcohol or disinfectants)
Use soft brush, cloth, or sponge (Do not use abrasives)
Allow to air dry

iPAD 2

How is the iPad 2 different than the original iPad?

The iPad 2 is different from the iPad in several ways, both inside and out. The most noticeable difference is the new design. Apple has incorporated the same unibody design principles which we have seen on the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops into the iPad 2. This means the iPad 2 is 33% thinner than the original iPad and also comes in .2 pounds lighter. The iPad 2 measures 8.8mm thick and weighs in at 1.33 pounds.
The iPad 2 also comes with two cameras, one on the front and one on the back, which can be used to take pictures and video as well as support FaceTime and video calling. The rear camera is capable of recording in 720P at 30 frames per second and can also take still images with a 5X zoom. The front facing camera is designed mainly to support video calling and supports a VGA resolution at 30 FPS as well as the ability to take still images of VGA quality. You are able to control the exposure by tapping on the screen and the photos can be geotagged when connected to WiFi so that you know where you took them.
Another exterior difference is the availability of a white iPad 2. Previously the iPad was only available in black. With the launch, users will now be able to choose from black or white.
Inside, the iPad 2 has a new, faster, dual core A5 processor which delivers two-times the performance of the original iPad and nine-times the graphics performance. The new processor will allow developers to create richer, more immersive, applications that provide even greater visuals.
The iPad 2 will also be available with a Verizon 3G connection, a change from the original iPad which was available with a mobile data connection from AT&T.
Also inside the iPad 2 is a three axis gyroscope which has previously been added to the iPhone 4 and allows for more sensitive motion controls in apps.
Hidden inside the iPad 2 are a number of magnets which allow the iPad 2 to be used with the Apple Smart Cover and eventually third party cases that connect to the iPad with magnets, allowing for protection without giving up a slim form factor. The Smart Covers can also be used to place the iPad 2 into positions for typing and viewing content.
iPad 2 Features:
The inclusion of two cameras on the iPad 2 brings photography to the Apple tablet and Apple is including two new apps that will allow user to take advantage of the cameras. The first new app is FaceTime which allows you to video chat with other iPads, iPhones, iPod Touchs and also with Mac users.
Apple is also including Photo Booth for the iPad. Photo Booth makes it easy to take pictures of you and your friends and edit them in fun, and funny ways. There are a collection of built in filters, ranging from X-Ray to Light Tunnel, to tweak your photos and then you can share them via the mail app, in a slide show or in your photo library where you can share photos using other iPad apps.
Like the original iPad, the iPad 2 has a 9.7″ IPS display which is LED backlit. The display provides a very crisp image for both photos and videos. The IPS (in-plane switching) technology offers a wide 178 degree viewing angle, which means you can share the screen with a friend.
The iPad 2 has a multitouch screen which is how you interact with the iPad. Users can flip through images, pinch to zoom or flick across the screen to control the iPad 2. When you need to type an onscreen keyboard pops up and allows you to compose documents and emails. When you’re done, the keyboard slides off the screen until you need it again.
The iPad 2 ships with iOS 4.3, Apple’s latest operating system which is what powers the iPad experience and includes access to the 65,000 iPad apps. There are a collection of new features in iOS 4.3 including faster browsing, access to your iTunes content over your home network, improvements to AirPlay streaming and the ability to have the iPad switch control the orientation lock or to act as a mute switch.
iPad 2 Apps:
The iPad 2 ships with a collection of built in apps including the new FaceTime iPad app and the Photo Booth iPad app. The FaceTime iPad app allows you to make FaceTime video calls to other Apple devices and the Photo Booth app makes it easy to make fun edits to photos you take while hanging out with friends, as if you were in an actual photo booth.
Other built in apps include the Safari web browser which is now faster than on the original iPad and allows you to visit anywhere on the web. You can have several webpages open at a time with support for tabbed browsing.
Notably, it does not support Flash, so you won’t be able to play every online video, but most websites now support a video format that the iPad 2 can play.
The Mail app allows you to check your work and personal email accounts with support for major web email services, and Exchange which is used at many companies. The Mail App can connect to Pop3 and IMAP accounts as well. There is support for reading, responding and opening attachments right on your iPad.
iBooks, Apple’s eBook and PDF reading app is also installed giving you access to a wide variety of books. You can also install many other eBook reading applications like the Kindle iPad app or the Nook iPad app.
The iPad 2 ships with the Videos app and Photos app which allow you to watch your purchased or downloaded videos as well as those you take with the iPad. The Photos app can be used to play a slideshow on the iPad, or wirelessly to your Apple TV.
The iPad 2 also has a built in iPod app, which is where you control your music, choose playlists and flip through your albums. You can be playing music in the iPad app while you use the iPad for other activities.
For purchasing content and apps you can use the iTunes and App Store apps which provide access to movies, music and TV shows as well as over 65,000 iPad apps.
Rounding out the included apps are Maps, YouTube, Find My iPad, Game Center, Notes, Calendar and Contacts. The Find my iPad app can help you track down a lost iPad. Game Center will keep track of how you are doing on the numerous iPad games and compare your progress to your friends. The rest of the apps so pretty much what the name implies; Map, show you YouTube videos, allow you to take notes, and display your calendar and contacts as synced from various online accounts.

In addition to these built in apps you have access to over 65,000 iPad applications already released. The iPad apps made for the original iPad will work with the iPad 2, and you can use iPhone applications on the iPad 2. If you use an iPhone application though, the app will either take up a portion of the screen, or will be scaled up to fill the screen.

Apple announced two new apps today that will launch with the iPad 2. First is iMovie which is a portable movie editing studio that will let you edit the video you take or import to your iPad and then share it with your friends. Next up is Garage Band which can help you learn how to play music, or be used to create tunes on the iPad 2 with up to 8 tracks mixed in.

Multimedia Design - The principles of Organization

1. Harmony
  • The first of the principles of organization, may be defined as a pleasing relationship between different sections of a composition. It occurs when elements or independent parts have characteristics in common – such as repeated colors, similar textures, shares edges, and so forth. These areas become vitally linked; their commonality makes the visually related or “pulls the together”. Harmony, then may be thought of as the factor of cohesion that relates the various parts of a composition to each other.
  • Event vastly different areas or images will begin to harmonize if they are related in a similar manner. For example, an artist can begin to relate two different kinds of lines, vertical and horizontal by making them all straight. If they were all the same length, they would harmonize even more, and if they were all drawn with an ink pen on damp paper, their similar character would relate them even further.
  • We will look individually at the many ways an artist may create harmony, including the repetition of a pattern or motif, and the creation of visual groupings through closure, visual linking , and linking through extensions.

2. Variety
  • Variety is the counterweight to harmony, the other side of organization essential to unity. While an artist might bring a work together with harmony, it is variety arouses the viewer’s curiosity and holds his or her attention.
  • It is a factor of visual contrast – an isolation of elements and images. Like a good sheepdog that singles out one animal from the flock, the introduction of variety actively separates areas or images to make them more exciting and let them stand apart.

3. Balance
  • Gravity is universal, and we spend our daily lives resisting its influence. While walking, standing on one leg, or tipping back in a chair, we experience its effect and intuitively seek a state of balance. When we are off balance, we have a strong fear that gravity will pull us over and we will fall down.

4. Proportion
  • Proportion deals with the ratio of individual part to one another or to the whole. For example, the length of an arm in comparison to the length of an arm in comparison to the length of the whole body is a proportional relationship.
  • In works of art, appropriate proportions are often difficult to determine and the relationships of part are hard to compare with accuracy because proportion is often a matter of personal judgment. When the ratios of parts to the whole seem logically related, the proportions created harmony and balance.

5. Dominance
  • While developing an image, an artist strives for interest by creating differences that emphasize the degrees of importance of its various parts. These differences result from compositional considerations within the medium – some features are emphasized, and others are subordinated.
  • This creates primary focal points and secondary areas of interest that help move the eye around the work.

6. Movement
  • Many observers do not realize that in looking at artwork, they are being “taken on a tour”. The tour director is, of course, the artist, who makes the eye travel comfortable and informative by providing visual pathways and areas of rest. The roadways leading to the rest stops have certain speed limits established by the artist, and the rest stops are of a predetermined duration.
  • The artist’s roadways are, in fact , transitions between optical units, and the time required to negotiate them depends on the amount of harmony and variety applied to each. The eye movements dictated by these transitions are produced by the direction of lines, shapes, and shape edges (of contours) that seem to relate and “connect” to one another.
  • The lines, shapes and shape contours are generally pointed at one another or in the same general direction. They may be touching but are normally interrupted by gaps over which the eyes skip as they move about. Sometimes “leaps” are necessary, requiring strong directional thrusts and attractions.

7. Economy
  • As a work develops, the artist may realize that the solution to various compositional problems are resulting in unnecessary complexity. This situation is frequently characterized by broad aspect of the work deteriorating into fragmentation, and it commonly results from the artist’s working on one segment of the composition at a time.
  • While this may be a necessary part of the developmental phase of the work, such isolated solutions may result in a lack of visual unity in the overall composition.
  • Employing the principle of economy means composing with efficiently – expressing an idea as simply and directly as possible with no arbitrary or excessive use of the elements. Economy has no rules but rather must be an outgrowth of the artist’s instincts. If some thing works with respect to the whole, it is kept; if disruptive, it may be reworked or reject.

Six Important Things To Consider When Finding A Domain Name

Importance of Having a Domain Name

As compared to the real world wherein strategic techniques are of great importance in order to achieve success, in the business industry, an effective domain name is considered a primary factor to achieving rankings, traffic and sales online.

Characteristics of a Domain Name

If you are planning to find a domain name for a future website, you must first take a look at the following characteristics to filter out the undesirable results:
  • Short
In finding a domain name, you need to bear in mind that the shorter, the better. The reason behind this is that people will remember it easily. In this case, your target name must range between 5-20 characters or maybe at most three words.
  • Easy to Remember
A domain name that is easy to remember allows people to simply type it in the address bar in case they need some information from your site. Although bookmarking features are available, most users do not utilize them. Therefore, if you have a complex domain name, the tendency is that you will lose a valuable number of visitors.
  • Easy to Spell
Always keep in mind that while a misspelled domain name will potentially bring visitors to your website, but the search engines no longer favor misspellings as they did years ago and the saavy internet users tend to mistrust these types of websites. In this case, you need to ensure that you are not using strange combinations of letters and numbers, foreign words, words that are difficult to pronounce or something that can be misspelled by your visitors. It is better to use simple and familiar yet striking words for the users to remember and spell out easily.
  • Make use of a “.com” extension
There are numerous reasons why you should use a .com extension. First, .com extension is by far the most popular extension all over the world, meaning it is what a lot of internet users type after the domain name. Next, it is a great help in partially reducing promotion efforts. When trying to find a domain name, .com extensions are ideal, even if you must incorporate a brand keyword with your target keywords to secure one.
  • Descriptive
Since visitors come from anywhere, an effective way of dragging them to visit your site is the way your domain name describes your website. For instance, if your site is about “do-it-yourself” crafts, you must include “diy” or “crafts” in your domain name.
  • Avoid the Use of Numbers and Hyphens
A lot of visitors tend to ignore the numbers and hyphens in the domain name. For them, it is considered as an additional burden in finding websites. For example, if your domain name is “do-it-yourself.com”, most probably, visitors will just type “doityourself.com” and ignore the hyphens. If your website becomes sucessful, you can bet someone else will take advantage of your traffic with your domain name minus the dashes.

Download Free Books for your Amazon Kindle

Amazon’s Kindle store has more than a million books that you can download and read on your Kindle e-book reader.

Find and Download Free Books for Kindle

While most eBooks available on the Amazon Kindle store are paid, here are some simple ways by which you can find and download free Kindle books for your reading pleasure.

#1. Sources for Downloading Free Kindle Books

Project Gutenberg, Open Library, Google Books, ManyBooks and FeedBooks
are some popular websites that offer a large collection of classics and public domain (copyright expired) books in standard formats like MOBI that you can easily transfer to your Kindle over USB or Wi-Fi.
Google Books are available in ePUB format which is incompatible with the Kindle but you can use the free Calibre software to easily convert Google ebooks from .epub to .mobi, a format that Kindle can understand. Calibre does not however support conversion of DRM protected ePUB files to Kindle format.
Also, the Internet Archive website mirrors the free eBooks that have been scanned and digitized by the Google Books program and here they also offer the same title in MOBI format that you can read on your Kindle without conversion.

#2.1 Top 100 Best Sellers – This is like a Pinterest style listing of Kindle Best Sellers that are currently available for free and the deals are generally good for 2-3 days. If you change this default sort order from “Relevance” to “Price: Low to High”, you’ll get a list of all Kindle books that match your search keywords but are available for $0.00 (see the above screenshot).
#2.4 Popular Classics – This is an official listing of all ebooks that are available as free downloads on the Amazon.com website. These are Public Domain Books that have been converted from print to digital format by Amazon.

Here are some RSS feeds that you can subscribe to and get alerts when new titles are available:

Kindle eBook Pricing for International users

If the price of a Kindle book is mentioned as $0.00 on the Amazon Store, it may sometimes show up as $2.00 if the country associated with your Kindle account is not United States. This happens because Amazon charges a $2 roaming fee for “international downloads”.
If that’s the case, you can either temporarily change your Kindle country to US or transfer via computer and you may not be charged that extra $2 Whispernet fees.
Read Kindle Books without the Kindle Reader
If you don’t have the Kindle device (i.e., the hardware), you can still download any of these Kindle books and read them in your web browser (read.amazon.com) without having to install any software. Amazon also offers reading apps for your Windows PC, Mac, Android, iOS, etc. so you can enjoy your favorite books on your desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone without having to buy the Kindle Reader.

Access Files on your Computer from Anywhere

The problem: You have documents, photos, music and other important files on the home computer. How can you “remotely access” these files from your office computer or, when you are travelling, from your mobile phone?
The solution: The simplest solution would be that you copy all your data from the home computer on to a portable hard drive and carry it around but this is obviously a bit cumbersome approach as it requires you to manually sync the home computer and your portable disk.

Access Files on your Computer over the Internet

There are couple of ways by which you can retrieve files stored on your home computer from anywhere else using a regular Internet connection.

Option 1: Using Online Backup
You can use an online backup service like SugarSync, Carbonite, SkyDrive or even Dropbox – they provide desktop utilities that will automatically upload files on your home computer to the Internet and you can then access these files through the web browser of any other Internet connected computer.
The upside is that your files will always be available to you even if the home computer is not running. SugarSync and Carbonite have a mobile optimized website so you can access files from any mobile phone as well.
The downside is that if you are using any of these services for the first time, you’ll to wait until they upload all your data to the cloud and this process may take long if you have too many files on the home computer.

Option 2: Using Desktop Sharing Software
There are free desktop sharing software like TeamViewer and UltraVNC that also let you remotely access your computer files from anywhere else. LogMeIn Pro is another good option for transferring files from a remote computer but these are paid services.
If all your computers are running Windows, you can use the built-in remote desktop connection feature of Windows (available in XP and later) to access your home computer from another Window computer over the Internet.
With Desktop Sharing software, you’ll always have access to all your files but one big limitation is that it requires that the remote computer stays on. Also, none of these options will help you access files on a mobile phone except LogMeIn which has an iPhone app.

Option 3: Access Files Directly through the Browser
Online backup services, discussed above, will copy files to their own servers before you can access them for anywhere else. Screen sharing services are often slow and they won’t work on most mobile devices. Let’s now explore another set of services that allow you download files directly from the home computer.
Copernic, like Google Desktop, is a popular desktop search software that you may use to find emails, documents and other files on your Windows computer. They have a paid component called myCopernic on the Go that lets you remotely search for content stored on the home or office computer. You can preview the search results and then download them to your mobile phone or remote PC.
With Opera Unite, you can easily turn your computer into a web server and instantly access files and folders on that computer from any other web browser (including that of mobile phones). Opera Unite is a standard web server and therefore you’ll be downloading files directly from the computer – they’re not uploaded anywhere else.
Another option is GBridge that lets you setup a virtual private network using your existing Google Account. Companies use VPNs to let employees access corporate data over a public network (Internet) and with GBridge, even home users can build their own VPNs to access remote files more securely.
Windows Live Sync at sync.live.com is another great choice for remotely accessing files over the Internet. Just install the Live Sync client on your computer and you can then access the entire hard drive of that computer simply through the Windows Live Sync website.
Finally, you may also want to check out HomePipe – this is an extremely easy and free service that lets you access your home files and media from any other computer or mobile phone. Install the HomePipe Agent and all files on that computer will instantly become available through the web. They also have apps for iPhone and Android phones.
